My Passport 1TB write-only in Ubuntu 9.10

I’ve hidden the VCD and the hard drive is detected properly in Ubuntu 9.10. I can see and open all files but I can not write anything on it as it appears as " read only". I wonder if anyone has managed to write in the “My Passport” in Ubuntu.
I hope a firmware update to eliminate once and convert the virtual drive to “My Passport” one unit “normal.”
