My Passport 1T External HDD loses configuration using Time Machine

I’m using a My Passport 1T External HDD for backup on Time Machine. I made all setups to use with TM, setting is as Mac Os Expand (Journaling). After a few backups, it fails and when I check what is going on, find out that it is as Mac Os Expand, and not Mac Os Expand (Journaling) as it should be. Anyone can help me figure out what is happening?
