My old wd3200c032-002 external hd stopped working on PC

I made the mistake of plugging in my wd3200c032-002 external HD into a mac (when I’ve only ever used it on a PC). The Mac didn’t register it, and when I tried to plug it into my PC it didn’t recognize/read the drive either. No drive ever showed up. Is there a possibility that something happened when I plugged it into the mac?

The green power light still comes on, and the hd makes its typical noises.

Help!!!

Hello, connecting the My Book to a Mac should not cause any problems, but you need to be sure to eject it before disconnecting the USB cable, if the hard drive is not ejected it could cause data corruption. You can check if the My Book is recognized on the disk management window. If the My Book is recognized and you need to recover your files, you can try using a data recovery program. Check the link below for the steps.
