My new MyBook for Mac external hard drive does not show up on Mac OS10.10
It’s connected to a USB 2 hub.
No icon shows up on the desktop.
Drive light is on at the front.
Rebooted and nothing happened.
Using Mac OS10.10.3.
What to do? Please advise. Thanks!
I am having this same problem recently. Since I upgraded to new Mac OS 10.11.1. I tried a factory restore for mybooklive and it is not showing up in time machine when I go to select disk.
Have you found a solution anywhere? Time machine is still not recognizing the drive. It shows up in finder and everything. I can’t figure it out.
I called WD Support. They got me to try numerous things…
unplug the drive from electrical power source and replug to the wall.
Rebooted.
Still nothing.
Then we unplugged the USB cord from my iMac and replug. FINALLY the external drive icon showed up on my desktop and I was able to tell Time Machine to start backing up.
