My NAS ShareSpace says "DATAVolume" doesn't exist.. help!

Hi Guys,

I’m new to this forum and  I need a help regarding my 4TB Sharespace.  I was using it one night, then after watching some movies, I just turned off the TV (NAS normally is not shut down) so I went to bed and next morning, when I was about to connect to NAS using my DLNA TV, the Public Folder is missing!!! I go to the web interface of WD and my Raid says FAILED and UNASSIGNED.  The weird part is the status of all my drives are all GREEN so I dunno what happen.

I started reading articles in these forums, especially this link:   http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-ShareSpace/Datavolume-doesn-t-exist-message/td-p/4440/highlight/true/… and i found out that somethings missing in my RAID.

I did the preliminary commands by @Fibreiv and I get the following:

~ $ mdadm -D /dev/md2
mdadm: md device /dev/md2 does not appear to be active.
~ $ mdadm --assemble /dev/md2 /dev/sda4 /dev/sdb4 /dev/sdc4 /dev/sdd4
mdadm: no recogniseable superblock on /dev/sda4
mdadm: /dev/sda4 has no superblock - assembly aborted

How can I restore the “superblock” on my sda4?  Also, my mdadm.conf is saying “no such file or directory”.

Im really depressed now because I have tons of Movies and TV series in my NAS and its 350GB++ free space left, I don’t want to lose them.

Please help!!!

Thanks!

John
