Hi - I have had the NAS Drive since August and this has happened to me twice, most recently this morning.
I have renamed the NAS server from the default WDMyCloudEX4 to LimFam when I first set it up. I woke up this morning and noticed that it has been reset to factory default. Ie, the name of the server reverted back to WDMyCloudEX4 and the login information has reverted back to the default too. I had to login into the server interface and re-setup everything. It was almost like I had hit the reset button on the Server itself. This has happened to me twice since August.
Anyone knows why this happened and has this happened to anyone else?
I did some checking and there is no reason that your unit should be resetting itself. The only question was what I brought up to you about about a power “brown-out/black-out.” The only recommendation was to do an intentional reset to see if that fixes it. Otherwise, you’re looking at a faulty unit and should replace it.
