My MBP 13" can't mount mybook essential 3.0 (1TB)

Hi.~

I just bought WD mybook essential 1TB (black)

and it is connected my MBP throuh USB port(2.0)

There is a problem…

i did what manual said…

but in FINDER i can’t find external HDD …

THere is no external hdd in disk utility.

but if i disconnect usb port physically and connect it again…

it comes on the FINDER and MONTED…

i don’t like this…

i just want it to come along with booting my MBP…

every time i want to mount MYbook essential 3.0… do i have to disconnect usb and connect physically again?..

or press the power button of back side of MYbook essential 3.0   for a 5 second…

and push it again. to turn it on?..

oh… i hate to do that…

i already installed firmware ., and WD smart ware program…

my mbp is 13" C2D 2.4Gh 4Gram  250GHDD

Is there any way i can solve this problem?

There could be a power issue in your case and you mac book pro

I would suggest you obtain a power booster cable so that the drive receives enough power to be recognized.

You can order one on line or call wd tech support for one. If you dont want to wait try purchaseing a usb hub with a power adapter.

thnx.

i finally find out what was the problem…

i switch the port for mybook essential.

a minute ago, i plug usb line into a USB hub (7port) which works with power supply adapter.

As you said  little short of power for my book essential…

so… i directly plug a usb of mybook into one of 2 USB port of MBP …

now it works…

i reboot MBP… and now it is mounted…

thanks alot.

Usually, i use all 7port of usb HUB alot…

maybe that cause the lack of power resource…

thanks…alot…

Glad to hear it worked for you!
