I have just purchased my first WD device, My Cloud Home Duo. Installation was straightforward, with the device connected by ethernet to my router.
I use a MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.4. The first backup with Time Capsule was successful.
The second day, my MacBook Pro has begun doing a freeze (crash) and automatic restart at random times in random apps, at a frequency of every 15 minutes to an hour.
When I unplug the ethernet link to the Duo, the behavior goes away, and when I reconnect, it returns.
As an aside, my wife is running High Sierra on her MacBook Pro and is having no problems, with successful Time Capsule backups to the Duo.
WD support, while sincere, had no answer or help.
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone else have an idea for solutions to try.
