Hi I’ve got a WD 2TB 3.0 external hard drive for my PS4 and I’ve plugged it in and it was flashing and now the light is on constant no flashing but when I head to devices and USB storage devices it says the USB storage device is not connected but it’s plugged in and the light is on with no flashing but still coming up with device not connected, any help would be appreciated thanks
Are you wanting to use it as a Media Drive (eg to view/watch Movies, Music, Photos etc)
or as Extended Storage for PS4 Games (Install PS4 Games and Apps) ?
If you are wanting to use it as a Media Drive … it must be formatted either FAT32 or exFAT (exFAT preferred as it supports files over 4GB)
(NTFS will NOT work on a PS4)
If you are wanting to use it as Extended Storage to Install PS4 Games and Apps on … you must format the Hard Drive on the PS4.
NOTE: You cannot use a Single External Hard Drive as Both a Media Drive and Extended Storage Drive
It’s one or the other … not both.
