My trusty 12TB G-Raid external drive has suddenly stopped being recognised by my Mac (running Catalina OS); my Macpro laptop wont recognise it either. I cant find anything to help restore its visiblity anywhere online. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
When you connect an external hard drive on Mac, it will show up on Desktop, Finder, and Disk Utility. But sometimes the external drive won’t appear on any of these places. To fix the issue, you can try the below methods:
- Change MacOS settings under Finder preferences
- Reset (NVRAM/PRAM/SMC) Mac firmware settings
- Fix external hard drive connectivity issue
- Mount or Repair the external hard drive using Disk Utility
