If your disk is not appearing on the desktop in macOS, here’s how to resolve the issue:

Check Finder Preferences

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Go to the Finder menu at the top and select Preferences.
  3. Under the General tab, ensure External disks is checked.
  4. Switch to the Sidebar tab and confirm External disks is selected under “Locations.”
