My Cloud USB external drive does not share

Firmware Version 04.05.00-342

I have attached an external hard drive and cannot see it on my windows 10 pro PC. The My Cloud is visible in the files explorer and I can access the shares on it. Is what I am trying possible? If so, how?
Thanks, Peter

The MyCloud has it’s own subforum. Based on your FW version, you have a Gen 1 device. These are not compatible with OS 5.

Have you enabled the USB storage in the dashboard?

Thanks for the reply. I have just succeeded in accessing the usb drive from my PC. A share was being created but the volume name was “Videos” and the drive was named “Samsung M3 Portable” I thought that “Videos” was a predetermined share as “Public” is. As soon as the drive is detected and USB is enabled in the settings the share is created.
