WD My Cloud SafePoints are impossible to manage on XP running IE8. It will work on XP using Google Chrome. Better still, upgrade to Windows 7 and use IE9 to manage SafePoints. This particular GOTCHA is not documented anywhere; just discovered it today by accident while trying to troubleshoot SafePoints.
Hi and welcome, on the system requirements page on the My Cloud manual (page 6), it shows that Windows XP (32 bit) SP3 or later with the Java runtime client should work from the following browsers.
Internet Explorer 8.0 and later on supported Windows computers
Safari 5.0 and later on supported Mac computers
Firefox 12 and later on supported Windows and Mac computers
Google Chrome 14 and later on supported Windows and Mac computers
