My Cloud Home Offline to PC, iPhone but not to Plex Roku App

For the last few days, my My Cloud Home (MCH) is showing as offline when I attempt to connect to it with the WD My Home Cloud app on my iPhone and trying to use Discovery on my PC. However, my Plex app on my Roku is able to connect and play music with no problems.

I have tried powering down MCH for various lengths of time; the longest over an hour. When I power it back up, it still exhibits the same behavior: Plex app on Roku still plays music but my iPhone and PC can make a connection.

Based on some posts I’ve seen here, I am going to try powering down my router and modem and see what effect those steps have on the issue.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, have you found a solution?

This was a global problem, I quote the recommendation from WD support that solved my problem.

We experienced an issue with our service that brought your My Cloud Home or ibi device offline. We understand that your data is important to you, and the content on your device is not at risk from this outage.

The issue has been addressed with an update that is now available. The update will install automatically within a few hours, or you may speed up the process by power cycling the unit once.

I am using the Plex app on IPhone and now My Cloud Home is Offline.
I am using the latest version of Plex app installed on 30-september.
Before I was able to see the content of My My Cloud Home from Plex app on IPhone.
The same problem also on Samsung phone.
