My Cloud EX4: CPU utilization near 100% after Firmware Update 1.05.21

My EX4 ran fine before the firmware update. After the update, the CPU utilization is near 100% for the past 16 hours. The web page interface is very sluggish. I have not used my EX4 for a few weeks before the update. I have SSH into the box and found about 16 processess that are using up my CPU bandwidth. All of those 16 processes are of the same instance:

httpd -f /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf -k graceful

I have rebooted the EX4 after the update and have done a system restore after the update.

My question is: Is this normal behavior? When will the CPU return to an idle condition? What are all of those apache processes doing?

thanks,

k

I think the apache processes are listeners awaiting new connections to the web interface. It’s kinda normal for any system running apache.

If you didn’t already, try using  top  to see what is taking up most cpu (press q when you’re done  )

Thanks for replying. I did run “top”. That is when I found 16 instances of the apache process I listed above. Although I agree, it is normal for the apache processes to listen for a new connection, I don’t think it is normal for 16 of them to be running taking nearly 100% of the CPU bandwidth for 16 straight hours. Before the firmware update, CPU utilization was about 10%.

We have passed this along to support.

Im seeing the same problem.

My load averagfe is about 20, 100% cpu utilization

apache2 is the biggest hog
