My Cloud does see My Book via USB drive

Yesterday, I got a 4tb My Book to use as a backup drive with the My Cloud. I tried to create a SAFEPOINT but when I click on the USB icon on the dashboard, it indicates that no USB devices are ‘available.’ After three hours of research to try and solve the problem, I submitted a ‘Help’ ticket

If anyone else is having these issues, please post here. I thought WD solved this problem back in 2014 with a firmware upgrade. This EXTERNAL DRIVE issue was supposed to be fixed and HAS NOT!

Any solutions / suggestions would be welcomed

Help

There have been a number of discussions on the My Book having trouble with the My Cloud that can be found using the forum search feature, magnifying glass icon upper right. For example the following recent discussion:

You will need to ensure the My Book is formatted in a format (NTFS for example) the My Cloud supports.
