My Cloud broadband/internet usage

Hi all,

Not sure if this is a daft question but it’s one i’m not sure of and need a definitive answer.

I’ve got just bought a My Cloud and at the time of buying didn’t think about the impact it might have on my broadband usage.

All i’m using it for is time machine back ups, storing files (music, photos etc) and accessing them from my computer, basically to free up space on my computer.

What i’m not sure of is whether this impacts on my broadband limit.

Please can someone advise?

Hi,

As long as you are accessing the My Cloud from within your home network, it won’t eat up any of your Internet data allowance. If you are out on the road and access the My Cloud from there, then whatever data you push out will count against your ISP’s limit.
