I am not sure if this is a common issue, but I am I unable to access my cloud (Local) when I don’t have Internet connection. The same app works perfectly when I have an Internet connection. I am a little confused as to why I need to have an Internet access to be able to access my local network.
I also use VLC on my iPhone and VLC has no issue reading from the drive, but I cannot upload anything to it.
You can use a “file manager” type app for local access rather than the My Cloud mobile apps. Its what I do with my Android devices. I currently use ES File Explorer to access local network devices like the My Cloud. I also use BubbleUPnP as well on my Android devices to stream from the My Cloud Twonky media server.
