Hi

My wd backup drive works perfectly in every respect with the exception that when I try to create a system image in Windows 7 i.e.   Backup and restore/System Image/Where do you want to save your backup  The WD drive is not found !

The same happens if I try to use Windows 7 backup …it does not show the drive as a place to back up !

As the WD software itself does not have the option to create a system image any help in achieving this would be appreciated.

I’ve seen a lot of people have problems with the Windows 7 backup. EaseUS, Paragon and Macrium all have free stripped down versions of their software. Acronis True Image has a try and buy option. I use Acronis True Image 2010 I’ve never tried using it with a networked drive. Acronis does have a good help forum.
