I am using a 1TB Studio with my IMac running Snow Leopard. I have a Win 7 32 bit virtual machine also running on the Mac and need to access large > 4GB files from the host Mac OS as well as from the guest Win 7OS. FAT 32 does not do this. Hence, the Studio has been NTSC formattedl and running NTSC for Mac, can be accessed by the Mac. So far so good. When I power down the Mac, the Studio does not get recognised unless I disconnect and reconnect the power cord from the back of the Studio, each time I power down. To get the SmartWare to open and unlock the drive, this has to be done every time.
This is a pain. WD have thrown their hands up and said no can do.
Any ideas?
