My Book Pro - Increasing capacity

Hi,
I have the My Book Pro 8tb edition.

The manual states that must replace the drives with WD black drives only (mentions the warranty).
The product is out of warranty anyway…

Can I use any set of disks to increase the capacity?
For example a set of 2x12tb My Book Essential, remove the drives from the essential product and put the two drives into the My Book Pro?
