I have a My Book for Mac, which stopped being recognised when I upgraded to El Capitan OS. Now have a new machine with Sierra OS, so bought a Passport for Mac, which is also not recognised.
To make it worse, I downloaded WD Drive Utilities to check it out, which recognises both (although neither Mac does) and then crashes = force quit. The Utilities is supposed to be up to speed for OS 10.12 (Sierra). I now have two bricks and a useless app.
