MY BOOK not saving files: I suddenly found that my files had not been backed up by MY BOOK ESSENTIAL for many months. Looking around the forum I found that I was not the only one, and found that other people had reloaded the latest version off the WD site. This I did and the problem was cured. What caused the problem I do not know. The moral is : Check frequently.
How are you saving the files? Are you using Smartware or another method?
Yes, I was using the original smartware that came with the drivepack, and it was that that stopped working. I therefore downloaded the software off the WD site (probably similar software) and this could I suppose fail also.
