My Book Not Responding

This is ONLY on my PC.  It works just fine if I literally unplug the USB cord (USB 3 or 2) from my PC and plug it into my brother’s 2 feet away (USB 2).  On my PC, it basically is an unresponsive drive.  Folders don’t open and Windows programs (Recycle bin, for example) lock up until I unplug the USB cord.  It worked fine until now.  This has happened about 2 months ago, but the problem fixed itself as far as I could remember.  I need it working on here because all of the data on it (movies) need to be accessed through a program on my PC from my Xbox and PS3.

It’s a 2 TB My Book, and both my PC and my brother’s are running W7 64.

Backup the data and run chkdsk

the partition could be heavily fragmented or corrupted

Didn’t  backup but I ran chkdsk, oh and this was on my brothers PC because I couldn’t even go to properties to get to chkdsk on this PC.  Did nothing, still doesn’t respond at all on here.
