Hey gang i’m trying to update firmware and then format my external, I keep getting error that the drive is busy and shut down all applications. I;ve done that and still can’t do it, any ideas?
which my book are your referring to, and did you follow all the instructions for doing the update, especially shutting down all firewall and virus protection?
Yes I followed all the shutdown and even tried it on my laptop to do the erase but to no fix
Personally I wouldn’t bother with firmware updates unless you have issues with the drive or Smartware. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

TY for the help got any ideas on how to erase it? or just use windows to format the drive!!!
