My book flickers briefly when connecting firewire to my macbook pro . Then nothing

Hi, 

Im sorry to say I knocked MY BOOK over the other day, stumbling over a cable. What happens now is that the drive flickers briefly when I connect the firewire cable, halfway down , either in the computer or the disk. Then no response. No response at all through 

Ive tried it on a pc through briefly but with no program able to recognize the disk on the pc…so I dont know what it’s worth. 

What would you do to try to solve the problem further?

If it doesn’t have any signs of being knocked over, replace it. Drives tend to die when knocked over, they are that sensitive.
