I have purchased a Western digital external hard disk (My book Essential) of 1 TB capacity. It is formatted with NTFS file system. I would like to change it to FAT32 file system without losing the disk space to use it with my multimedia devices. I was not able to find the FAT32 formatter utility for this model in WD support site. I would appreciate if anyone help me to find a utility to format it in FAT32 with full space??
51 viewed and no answer I am not able to use it, I have to format it to FAT 32 1st .
Please if any can help.
If you are using the My Book Essential w/ SmartWare, you can’t format it to FAT 32. That can damage the encryption hardware on the drive.
