My laptop hard drive (C:) is 99% full. How do I use the “My Book” as a new hard drive?

Well, the My Book is an external drive for backup and a real backup is having the information in two places so if one fails, you still have the other one.
Now being that said, you can move your files like cut and paste into the My book and you will be able to reduce the used space on your internal drive.
