My book essential/why cant i see files stored

I just got a my book essential and just ran a back up. Now I can see there is a listing of files/data that was put onto my book but I can SEE any of them? The tabs only options are to retrieve and put them in another folder?

I bought this so I could put pics and vids on here and not bog down hd of laptop, but still be able to drag/drop items into editing program…but I cant even see any of whats been backed up to the my book???

I have a passport and all i need to do is drag n drop to copy something onto it, and when i open it from ‘my computer’ tab on laptop, everything on it shows up and i can select whatever i want.

Why cant I do this with this my book essential??? I’m thinking I wasted 150 bucks…

Please help

i meant i CANT see any of them.

You can see the files in the backup folder but this files are not suppose to be edited or anything

a Backup means the files are saved to restore in the event of failure of the computer.

Looks like you don’t want a backup and want a storage drive to free up space on the internal drive for the PC

In that situation drag and drop the files to the drive and then you’ll have easy access to them when you need to edit and work with those files

backed up files are not suppose to be edited since the backup will become corrupted having files updated on the backup drive but not updated on the computer
