My book essential + smartware/ after update to 2.018 Write Error Rate rise

I have 2 external my book essential + smartware

HDD A. first orginaly was with firmware 1.0xxx (dont remember the all numbers)

HDD B. secound was with firmware 2.003

  1. When firmware 2.010 come out then i update bouth drives with newest firmware.

HDD A. after update was showing in smart  some Write Error Rate, after some time the Write Error Rate rise to 10 and Raw error rate rise to.

HDD B. after firmware update Write Error Rate was still 0, nothing changed in smart.

  1. When firmware 2.018 come out i decide to update only HDD B., this was bad idea. After update now i have some Write Error Rate to.

Why this updates destroys out HDD, updates should help us to have working and safe data storage.

I’m not one to blindly update to latest frimware or driver anymore. I toasted my video card earlier this year with the latest driver that turned out buggy. I would only update if you had some issue or it was a security issue. If it ain’t broke don’t fixit is frequently best.  So before updating read what it is susposed to fix then do some checking on manufacturers forums and see if other early adopters are having problems and then decide if you need it.

ok but if on the site i wrote that i have to update firmware before i want to install WD Smartware then i have to do what they want. I do everything with instructions. They shoul work how to resolve this problems because now i have 2 my book essentials 1TB with SMART errors. I can only use warrianty? and? i will have to wait for new drive about 1.5 mounth. Then will be new firmware and wd smartware and i will have to update bouth and i will have again errors? its crazy!
