My Book Essential PC for Mac

i’m Mac-user and planning to buy My Book Essential for PC because it is in sale right now.

I think i only need “Password protection and hardware encryption” feature.

Can i use password/encryption in my Mac even it is PC version and is it Spotlight and Time Machine compatible?

Hi dude!!

I don’t know about Spotlight, but it is compatible with TM, however, you will need to make sure the drive is unlocked at the moment TM needs to make a backup, or it won’t find the drive.

All you need to do is to format it and then it works on your Mac with all of its features.

Be aware  of  issues regarding firmware up dates. make a  BACK up  of your Hd disk  before  you   update the firmware. See other threads regarding this issue
