I have had my My book essential for about a year now and recently I have had trouble accessing the files on it. When I plug it into my computer the device just spins and the light blinks. After about 5 or so minutes it shows up in my computer. It shows up as CD Drive F When I double click it I get a message that says " Application not found but, when I right click and open I get a message that says " F:\ is not accessible The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. I/O error usually means that the drive is not working anymore. Before jumping into that conclusion I recommend that you try with another USB cable and another Computer if possible.
