My Book Essential does not wake-up

Hi,

My Book Essential 500 GB connected via USB to a desktop running Windows Vista does not wake-up and is not recognized by Windows.

After boot the PC My Book is OK. After a while My Book goes to sleep and is not recognized by Windows any more.

Some times My Book wake-up and Windows recognizes it but suddenly it turns to sleep once more.

Is there any suggestion how to resolve this issue ?

Hello,

Go to “Power Option” on your Control Panel and make sure the USB ports are not being turned off by this feature.

Also if you have WD Smartware installed go to “settings” and make sure the sleep timer is not on.
