My Book Essential Crystal Disk error VS DLGDIAG

Hi,
I have an older My Book Essential 1TB USB 2.0 external drive (older, plug in power adapter)

Anyway the disk is empty, formatted for NTSF and no WD software on it. When I run Crystal Disk I get a Caution error:

[Deleted]

Yet when I run a DLGDIAG quick test it passes.
I started an extended one and so far it’s been running for 7.5 hours and says time remaining is 1.21 hours.

First, how accurate is crystal disk (which gave me that report upon launching the program, didn’t seem like it “ran” anything)

Second, how long should an extended DLGDIAG test take? Is 7-9 hours normal?

Try running WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics by right-clicking on it and selecting “Run as administrator” to ensure the app has full test permissions. The parameters in question displayed in the current value and the failure threshold should be similar between the two apps. Some applications will provide warnings if a value is getting close to being marked as failed.

On the other hand, a 9-hour test for a 1TB unit is not normal. The unit could very well be degraded.
