What should I do to save my data,the USB connector isn’t working anymore, I took out the HD of the case & tried using a adapter to make it an external drive & my pc doesn’t recognize the drive, I don’t want to initialize it. How do I get a new usb connector or save my data. I also tried it on my laptop & tried another cable but nothing, the drive is only a yr. old.
If itis a drive that came with Smartware it is hardware encrypted by the board with the broken plug. You can try havein it soldered back on or try finding a replacement board. The usb is still on the board, I don’t know about soldering. I did look for the board online & can’t find 1 yet, I might have to open up another one or by a docking station that supports 4tb.

Well I got the new pcb part in the mail & I had to try 2 different usb ports & it actually worked I saved my 2.61 tb, thanks for your help.
