My Book Essential 2.0 has stopped working

I’ve had it for a several years, and I can no longer access it. The internal drive keeps spinning and stopping.

My PC seems to recognize it for a second, and then drops it. I’ve plugged it into my old PC and it does the same thing.

I’ve tried plugging the power cord directly into an outlet. Any ideas? Thank you

Check if the My Book is recognized on the disk management Window. You can also try running a test with DLG. Check the links below for more information.

Thanks for the reply.

My Pc does not recognize the drive. I hear the internal drive in the book start up, and then stop. When it stops I see it for a split second in the “Disk Management” window, and then it disappears. I’m guessing there is something wrong with the drive within the book?
