I am new to the forum and I thank you for your help.

(1.) Can this book Model # WD1600C037 be reformated without loosing the firmware?

EDIT: Can not find this model number at the WD Sopport page area. I got the model number off the scan bar tag on the bottom of the unit.

(2.). Can someone tell me how to reformat this Book?

Formatting a drive will not delete its firmware.
