Can a My Book Elite work over the network via an Apple Extreme Base Station?
The network has both PC & Mac machines which will be using the drive.
I know that’s not something we’ve tested for, but it shouldn’t be an issue. Just make sure the drive is formatted in Fat32, and know that you have a 4 GB file size limitation.
I just completed attaching a 1TB My Book Elite to an Airport Extreme base station. It was a little tricky but it is working. The only question I have outstanding with support is if there is a way for the Smartware to recognize the drive on the network rather than physically connected to my computer so I can use the software to schedule backups.
