My Book Duo

I am looking at getting a my book duo 8tb shortly as I am upgrading from windows to Mac. The question I have is what happens if the enclosure itself fails can I just remove the disks and slot into another machine? My computer knowledge is limited so please be gentle

Hello, the My Book Duo encrypts the data that is inside of the drive in the enclosure, this means that if the enclosure fails, you will not be able to place it on another enclosure and get the information, however there are some professional data recovery companies that have successfully got the information.
