I have a 2 Tb My Book on a Wndows 7 Home Premium x64 system. It works well, but intermittantly re-installs on booting. This is not a huge problem, but it is annoying. Any suggestions?
What is it reinstalling?

Have you tried to connect the usb cable on a deferent usb port?
Is this happening with a different computer?

Sorry about the delay getting back to you.
The wd setup program on the disc keeps running at startup. On closer examination, it’s not backing up much anyway, although it always appears on my drive list. I would like to use it without the wd software, since it doesn’t seem to work, but I don’t know how to stop it setting up repeatedly. Maybe just cutting my losses and reformatting?
Make sure you remove a password if you set one. Uninstall the Smartware and reformat then.
