I am attempting a backup of about 26,000 files (~10GB) and got thru almost all of it until I got notice of “Partial Backup complete” and then it proceeds very slowly, sometimes no progress for many minutes. I think I need to start over with a more restricted group of folders but all it will let me do is “disable backup” . How can I start over?

You can go to the drive itself and delete the WD Smartware folder and create a new backup on the software.
