My Book 700 MG drive will not show up

I have had nothing but trouble with this drive.

I want to use this drive 700MB MY BOOK on my desk top XP computer

The device manager reports:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

This drive began to loose connection after several minutes now it will not read at all.

I would try the drive on a different computer first to see if the same issue occurs - driver issues are usually the result of a larger OS problem. If the drive doesn’t work on another computer replace it. Otherwise you will need to figure out whats up with Windows and fix it before you’ll be able to use the drive.
