My Book 500GB what kind of AC Adapter do I need

A friend gave me My Book 500GB and didn’t give me the AC Adapter.  What kind of adapter do I need?  I was told that if I hooked it up to the wrong one I could ruin it.  Also does anyone know if this is supposed to come with a setup disc?  Or is it really a plug and play no worries?
