My Book 10TB encryption after copy data

Hi!
I have a My Book 10TB external drive and, after a substitution for fault s.m.a.r.t. test, I am using it as third backup copy of my data.
I have not yet enabled the drive access password with wd security app.
What if I will enable password AFTER full copy?? Are data encrypted ??

The data present on the drive will be encrypted once you setup a password. Afterwards, whatever files you will transfer to the My Book will also be encrypted.
