My 6TB Book II external hard drive wants to format after transferring data

I have started to use the 6TB Book II last year. I formatted the drive to NTFS and thereafter started to use it. After reaching certain threshold, transferring of the files slowed down to zero and when unplugged, the disk wanted to format.

Fine, this one is faulty, I tought, so I returned the one under warranty and got a new one. Same thing happened. Now I’ve I got the 3rd one that I successfully transferred data and the next day when plugged in it wanted to format.

I spend the last 6 months chasing and returning this disk. There must be something, I am doing wrong.

Do you guys know what to do? This must be something, I am doing wrong or a very very unlucky choice.

Best

Peter

Hi, be sure to always safely eject the hard drive from the PC before disconnecting the USB cable. You can also try connecting the My Book to another PC to see if the same problem repeats. Check the link below for more information.
