Music - remote play with different network

Hello,

My partner and I just bought the WD MyCloud Ex2 Ultra and we’re having some issues, most likely because we’re not very tech-savvy.

We’ve place all our music files in the shared folder, copied those files to our iTunes and it works. When we travel, we can’t access our files through iTunes anymore.

I’ve tried to look this up in the manual, but not being a native English speaker and the manual not being in our language, I’m having difficulty understanding half of it.

Could anyone aid us?

Yes - - - -this is a complex question.

You will have to come up a steep learning curve to get through steps to;

  1. Get your NAS to be “on the internet” through your router.
  2. Make your router able to share data across the internet.
  3. Get your computer to access iTunes from a web server.

After all that is done. . . . then we need to talk about

  1. “cyber security”.

I went through the first three items; then turned everything off when I started working on item (4)
