MPW Overheat

Hi everyone,

Is there a chance that my MPW get overheat when i plugged in for morethan 10 hours while its powered on and using continues ?

We are in tropical country and temperature around 24-30 degrees.

Not a good idea to do this as too many people have reported this use as damaging their MPW battery. Unlike a “real” NAS which has a cooling fan, MPW is not well suited to keep charging and run all the time. See your complete manual for your device and read about the care of the device and its battery. If you want a full time NAS, you should get one.

I saw your reply on one topic here and you said you keep your MPW plugged in and when you go out its fully charged.

Anyway 4hours of charging time while using it is not bas right ?

I can tell you MPW do get overhead with 30mins continuous usage, no wind, 28 degree room temperature,
when it overheat it will do auto shutdown,

so you gonna have to deal it.

You are correct that i wrote this after I had my Gen 1 MPW for about a year – BUT, this was written about 5 years ago! I (and others) had damaged the battery and I later got a WD My Cloud NAS and stopped using the MPW in that way! Also, the advice I gave you today is more current info and advice.
