MPEG-4 Played At Incorrect Aspect Ratio

Device: WD TV Live Streaming Media Player

Firmware: 1.08.17

I played a MPEG-4 video recorded on my camcorder. The video played at 4:3 aspect ratio but it’s supposed to be 16:9.

ffmpeg reports the following stats about this video:

The line beginning ‘Stream #0:0’ clearly shows that although the video’s dimensions are 720x576 the video’s data says that the display aspect ratio should be 16:9.

This video plays perfectly in Quicktime and VLC on Windows. My Samsung TV also plays it at the wrong aspect ratio but has an option to manually override this.

Most of  us aren’t familiar with that output of ffMPEG.

Please post the full TEXT output of MEDIAINFO for that file.
