I have just purchased a diskless EX4100. Currently I have four 2TB WD Red drives installed in a Dell 9200 PC configured as RAID1 by BIOS (disk management sees two 2TB disks managed as one 3.7TB Volume). I want to move these drives to my new EX4100. Are there any special steps to take or will the EX4100 just recognize the existing configuration?

This is not possible since the NAS enclosure would only support EXT4 partitions and as soon as you connect this drives it will want to reformat in order to use them with the device, my best advice is to backup the drives and then, after you do this you should setup the volume on the EX device.
