Moving Files From My PC to WD mybook Live Duo

I’m sure this has been hashed apart before, just connected a 4Tb mybook live duo to my network and everything seems fine until I try to move a video file from my pc to the video storage on the mybook. Can’t drag and drop, can’t cut/copy and paste ( options greyed) I have no problem with the 2Tb my book live also connected, simple windows explorer transaction.

What have I missed???

Looks like the file system is not able to handle files > 4TB

you may need to format the disk using exFAT

It didn’t work using the original raid1 setup which made it a 2Tb backed up drive.

I’ve since changed it to reflect as one 4Tb drive.

Can you advise on the format process as I don’t recall seeing the option

I suggest using a new NAS box with four disks to have some degree of fault tolerance and maybe get two or three of them if you find you need fore storage grows

WD Mybook should have a format option with Windows explorer

You’re having trouble transferring video files to your new 4TB My Book Live Duo, while the 2TB My Book Live works fine for this. To troubleshoot, first check that your user account has the necessary permissions to write to the video storage on the Duo. Look at the share settings in the device’s dashboard to make sure it isn’t set to read-only. Confirm that both devices are on the same network and try accessing the Duo directly via its IP address in Windows Explorer. Check for any file size limits on uploads and ensure the Duo has the latest firmware. If the problem persists, restart Windows Explorer or your PC and try transferring different file types. If these steps don’t help, consult the user manual or reach out to Western Digital support.
